Sinopsis(1)

A wealthy family withdraws from society for a period of eight months. 17-year-old Hélène has given birth and no-one wants news of this unforeseen event to reach the outside world. However, the fragile equilibrium of the family’s ecosystem is disturbed when the daughter, on the pretext of leaving the house to visit someone, goes off in search of the father of her child, with whom she spent a single night. In his third feature film Emmanuel Tardif presents an inscrutable, tantalisingly elusive fictional world enhanced by a colourful array of absurd characters. Despite limited funding he strives for a clearly formulated creative vision and demonstrates that young Québécois filmmakers are boldly seeking to grab our attention. inglés As the director himself said before the screening, "the film is long". It is, and to top it all off, it is extremely boring, with no momentum or anything the viewer can relate to. I walked out of the screening because I would have passed out or rooted in my seat by the end of the film. ()
