I thoroughly enjoyed Philomena Cunk’s unique take on history again. I wasn’t expecting such a deep dive into the Renaissance, but I’m not complaining! Episode three was surprisingly informative; I learned, for example, that Galileo didn’t achieve immortality because he wasn’t smart enough. What really caught my attention was Netflix allowing a discussion on Botticelli’s Birth of Venus, knowing it would be censored in the U.S. for its "pornographic" content. The episode's stop at Michelangelo’s David probably sealed the deal for a complete ban of this "immoral" content in the States. / Lesson learned: If your hobbies don’t include hard labor, dying of plague, or being tortured, the past might not be your thing.
