Biopic que narra la vida y la trayectoria musical de Tina Turner desde sus inicios, en los que con 19 años conoce al carismático músico Ike Turner. Nacida Anna Mae Bullock en 1939 en una pequeña población de Tennessee, el destino de Tina no le dio ni un segundo de descanso. Junto a Ike alcanzó la cumbre en el mundo de la música, pero también pagó muy caro el éxito: su matrimonio estuvo marcado por la violencia, los malos tratos y la angustia, pero Tina pudo encontrar el valor suficiente para abandonarlo todo y empezar de nuevo su vida y su carrera. I’m not really a fan of Tina Turner, but her life story is definitely worth turning into a movie. That’s also reflected in my rating. Four musical stars are about the right number. The acting is superb, the filmmaking is very 1990’s. It’s a pity that Ike, who is portrayed by Laurence Fishburn, wiped the floor with Angela Bassett when it comes to acting performances. It may have been because Ike was a real scumbag.

A great resume. Emotions, drama, everything take to the max. The brilliant Angela Bassett in the lead role, with Laurence Fishburne also having a very expressive performance. Even though Tina Turner is not my favorite singer, her story belongs to the important female destinies. At the time of the premiere, she still had several good years ahead of her, but there wouldn't have been anything if she hadn't divorced and stood on her own two feet. Classic #WomenPower
