Para celebrar el fin del instituto cinco jóvenes deciden alquilar una cabaña en un solitario bosque. Tras pasar por una pequeña tienda llegan al lugar. Paul y Karen se van a dar un baño al lago. Jeff y Marcy se quedan en la cabaña y Bert se va a cazar. Mientras está buscando dispara sin querer a un hombre enfermo. Bert se asusta y abandona al hombre. Pero por la noche vuelve a aparecer, intenta robarles el coche y acaban atacándole. (Vértigo Films Esp.)

Un aglutinado aburrido e involuntariamente divertido de clichés y giros de una docena de famosos clásicos de terror. Sin embargo, los cineastas no tienen ni pizca de perspectiva y se limitan a ponerse en ridículo de forma impotente y amateur. Ningún atisbo de tensión o atmósfera. La más floja de las películas de terror «los niños van a la cabaña». Incluso la nueva La matanza de Texas tiene más valor.

A totally botched attempt at a horror film, without a shred of atmosphere and suspense, with poorly written and poorly acted characters. The whole gang at the cottage acts like a bunch of idiots, with not a single one of them thinking of going to the neighbour's car to get out of the infected area as quickly as possible. They have one human life on their conscience, their infected friend is slowly dying and the infection is spreading fast, yet one of the girls feels the inevitable need to shave her legs or fuck her boyfriend as if nothing is wrong. Some scenes (and the entire second half of the film) take on surrealistic proportions due to their stupidity and utter chaos. And there is no point in commenting on the strange and repeatedly set ending. The one * is for trying to take the stale genre of teen horror in a slightly original way, otherwise, ignore it.

My opinion about Eli Roth’s films is the exact opposite as the consensus. Cabin Fever is the one I liked the least – or rather, I almost didn’t like it at all. Those few disgusting scenes aren’t enough to pull the film out of the mud, while the almost parody ending buries it completely.
