Alfred Hitchcock, films de jeunesse (1926-1934)

Quite a good documentary, in which Claude Chabrol and Bernard Eisenschitz describe the first decade of Alfred Hitchcock's filmography. They reflect on topics that we don't hear about in every other documentary, and they discuss language versions, source material, remakes, filmmakers' relationship in the BIP to themes, as well as pure national questions. Most of the source materials of early Hitchcock films are considered by the French to be inferior (including Sir Hall Cain), which is also not common. But it's great that Anny Ondra is praised again, even though in French her name is distorted to Ondrak ;) (23.04.2023)
