When a new witness to the 1984 shooting of a respected emergency room physician comes forward, Rush reopens the case. The original suspect was a mentally ill homeless man who was convicted of the crime based on circumstantial evidence and who eventually died in prison. However, the new witness states that the doctor was beloved by his family, friends and patients - but he had a secret gambling addiction.
