Sinopsis(1)

At the end of the World War II, hungry, homeless children are to be found roving aimlessly on the roads of Eastern-Europe. These kids, starving and abandoned, often stick together and become members of the same hoard. A group led by Hosszú, chances upon Simon Péter, a conductor, who, secluded from the raging war among the rumbles of a castle, is awaiting the advent of peace. The children and the old pure minded man gradually become friends. They join forces in defending the castle against a group of the village people set against them. One child is, however, killed, but they are successful in freeing their mates held in detention. The composer obtains an official paper from the new, democratic government, a written declaration that from now onwards the castle is regarded as the home of the little tramps.
