In the early sixties an ancient-looking man, emaciated and shaggy, gets off the train in a little town in Transylvania, having to check in and show his documents at the magistracy. Slowly though, his story unveils: Péter Győry, aged 47, was freed by the Chinese from a Soviet POW camp during a frontier incident, and sent home to his native village with his documents and a bundle of dollars, so he should make known to the world what he had experienced on the Gulags. Taking over the man from the police, the Securitate deprives him of his money, gives him a shave and new clothes, and leaves him with the local policeman to find his village. Meanwhile, however, the village had been flooded. The man seeks to become one with the soil of the fields. (texto oficial de la distribuidora)
