Sinopsis(1)

Taking place in an average Hungarian village of our time, the main site of the story is the pub, where the characters, representative of the settlement, turn up several times a day. Always the same scenes take place, and the innkeeper called Lajos keeps invariably saying the same thing to his lively, clear-minded and determined daughter: to accept the advances of ex-policeman Retek. Yet Masni resists. Oddly enough, a stranger appears in the pub who says that he is a writer and on his way to Portugal, wanting to take a few days' rest here. Now Masni believes to have found the man who suits her, but Bece's wife turns up in a luxury car, and though unable to take her husband back home, she makes him run away. Masni is left alone with her life's first great disappointment. (MNFA)
