Sinopsis(1)

A contemporary comedy continuing the highly popular Czech film series of the 1980s. After the death of his mother, Štěpán tries to decide what to do with his life. He gets a new job, as a doctor riding with an ambulance service, but his personal life is falling apart. Then his best friend, Kendy, asks to move in after his wife kicks him out. The two men take this reversal of fortunes with good humor, and at first bachelorhood even has a certain appeal. But when Štěpán meets Anna his life transforms. He is even given a shot at an administrative position at the local hospital, but is sitting behind a desk what he really wants. Perhaps the key to his happiness lies elsewhere. inglés It still works... Štěpán Šafránek has definitely become a tired doctor with the face of an older Basset, while Kendy is carefree and tuned into a playboy. And once again, life problems are being solved and, above all, women. I am genuinely excited that the creators have placed the main protagonist in the arms of the enchanting redhead Badinková, who adds a swipe with her sex appeal even to scenes where the plot unnecessarily stalls. I am not of their age, but if I can maintain a similar sense of my own priorities throughout my life like Štěpán, then it won't end up so badly with me. ()

inglés If it weren't for the terrible advertising inserts, which are incredibly forced and disparate, they're poets in the best tradition of the series. The Štěpán-Kendy duo was perhaps the best of the whole "saga" – their sarcastic friend-homo-relationship really made me laugh sincerely. It's just a pleasantly bitter spectacle, and I certainly hope it ends with this and that it’s not the beginning. Really decent as a poetic requiem. ()

inglés This is all wrong. The characters are already hostile, unrealistic, it's not funny, just absurd, not jokes, but the whole film. I like Pavla Kříž, but his character has simply become a lifeless and opportunist. This is unbearable to watch. When one remembers the first film, we are already completely somewhere else. Klein tries to emphasize some moral values, but does so strangely senselessly and naively. Absurd, that's probably the truth, what suits the film best. ()

inglés Since The Poets Never Lose Hope is set in a small town, the restitution viewing doesn't come until after the year 2000, and that's not to the liking of many. However, I would consider the key problem with the fifth film to be the inability to abandon the concept of "a new girl for Štěpánek in every episode," because the overdone relationship with Cinderella is nothing that would be a joy to watch. The divorced Kendy is no ideal either, but at least he hasn't lost his sharp wit. The redhead played by Badinková is a completely flat and uninteresting character, but fortunately, the birth in the elevator is not the end of the story. ()
