As World War II comes to its savage climax, a South Pacific island becomes the battleground for two soldiers defending their countries, their lives, and their honors. An American Marine is stranded on a small island inhabited only by a few natives and their missionary priest. The tranquil solitude is soon broken when a combat-damaged battleship docks for repair and the Japanese soldiers on board wage war against the island inhabitants.
