Paris, 18th Century: An innocent woman's (Janet Gunn) search for her missing sister leads her into the deadly sensuous realm of the infamous Marquis de Sade (Nick Mancuso), the only man who may hold the key to her whereabouts. Imprisoned for his sordid sexual escapades, he tries to convert her to his devious sexual philosophy. Boring costume movie dug out from the cobwebs of a video rental store corner, trying to parasitize on the scandalous reputation of the author of erotic works, but it cannot remotely come close to the quality of American Quills with G.Rush or Marquis de Sade with D.Auteuil. Poor script, second-rate actors, unremarkable directing, low budget - and by the way, I also imagine erotic heat differently. The only thing worth mentioning is perhaps the finale, which creates the charm of the unexpected and reminds of the famous scene of revealing family relationships in the theatrical play of the national genius Jára Cimrman. Overall impression: 25%.
