inglés A brilliant idea taken to the absurd and packed with a bunch of excellent gags, with Brooks chasing stars into his silent film, unfortunately for him a few decades later than it should have been. ()

inglés As a tribute, as an attempt against stereotypes, excellent and commendable, as an independent film, surprisingly acceptable and funnier with each passing minute, despite its naivety and imbalance. Some gags may not have worked even at the time of its creation, but on the other hand, such a hospital chase with Paul Newman or Caan's swinging trailer are almost timeless situations. And ultimately, that's what made me understand Brooks more and more. Silent Movie was made with exactly the same enthusiasm as the main trio displays in the film while searching for stars, and it's only about one thing - being able to enjoy it. So don't frown at the occasional tired joke and go applaud Vilma. 70% ()

inglés It's always a joy to watch a comedy full of people with comedic talent - and when that comedy is also well conceived and done with such obvious love and care, there's nothing to be upset about. Silent Movie is a wonderful homage to silent films, with Mel Brooks and Marty Feldman shining in particular, but what all the stars they're looking for their blockbuster perform is also unparalleled. Anne Bancroft in particular thrilled me. ()
