Kulička

An interesting piece with particular animation. It reminded me of a type of toy that used to be sold at fairs for a few crowns under the communists. They were little things, wrapped in coloured paper bags, with balloons, pencil sharpeners and sometimes small animals made of glass or wooden beads and small blocks strung on silk threads; that’s how the animals in this fairytale look like. The story is about a cat, a dog, a lion, a monkey, an elephant and a crocodile tug-of-war over a rainbow ball, until they end up fighting en masse :o) The palm tree, the water and the stairs are replaced by simple cubes, and the lion's roar looks like puffballs coming out of its mouth. What kids were supposed to get out of it, I don’t know, but I really enjoyed this visually interesting thing. (10.12.2008)
