Kerekes Péter inherited an estate burdened with debts. Only Gábor, the valet, helps him handle his everyday problems. At a tea-party Péter meets Erzsi, who later appears at his house as a lawyer with an execution warrant. Péter falls in love with her, his feelings are reciprocated, yet their life together promises only want and hardships. Thus Péter lets a piece of news appear in a newspaper picturing her as the inheritrix of great wealth. Suddenly, chances of acquiring wealth whirl around her. As Erzsi learns the true reason for the interest shown towards her, she breaks with the man and decides for someone else. But finally love prevails and she travels to Péter's estate to re-establish their relationship. (texto oficial de la distribuidora)
