inglés In contrast to The Black Gamekeepers, The Girl from the Podskalí is the opposite of Weteb's best creations. Suzanne Marwille plays a city girl who has barely outgrown her childhood playdates with her neighborhood friend, takes a job for the first time, and falls in love with the carousel driver V. Ch. Vladimírov. This charming man promises Pepča an adventurous life, which unfortunately does not last long, and Pepča chooses a voluntary demise than return home in disgrace. She stole and ran away from home for her love. The raw ending is a stark contrast to the whole film, which is as playful as could be conjured up from walking along the waterfront and peeking up the skirts of dressed ladies in multiple waist-slips.
