Dex, mentiras y cintas de vídeo (2007) (S02E06)

inglés I'm giving this one full marks because it totally delivered. The plot was firing on all cylinders with excellent pacing, and there was no shortage of action and tension, unlike the last episode. The only thing that threw me was Rita's character — she seems to have gone through some kind of crash course in empowerment, transforming from a downtrodden victim into a strong woman fighting for her truth. ()

Esa noche, un bosque creció (2007) (S02E07)

inglés The seventh episode hit a sweet spot for me. It struck a nice balance between delving into various interpersonal dynamics and cranking up the intensity with Dexter and Sergeant Doakes. Plus, they kept the investigation of the "Bay Harbor Butcher" case going. ()

Llega mañana (2007) (S02E08)

inglés The story took some big leaps forward, the atmosphere was spot-on yet again, and there was just the right mix of action and tension to keep me glued to the screen. No complaints from me on this one. ()

Resistirse es inútil (2007) (S02E09)

inglés I had a blast. The tension was palpable, Dexter's paranoia hit its peak, and the atmosphere? It was downright superb. Plus, the ending got me itching for the next episode. ()

Algo pasa con Harry (2007) (S02E10)

inglés The tenth episode had the potential to bore me with those back-and-forth chats between Dexter and Doakes in the swamps, but I actually found myself enjoying their debates. And when you throw in the progressing investigation and Dexter's intense inner struggle, I was more than satisfied with how it all played out. ()

Gire a la izquierda (2007) (S02E11)

inglés Once again, the story delivered a perfect blend of tension and action. The atmosphere was beautifully oppressive, but what really hooked me was Dexter's internal struggle and the journey to a major life decision. I was completely engrossed from start to finish, and that cliffhanger ending got me itching to dive right into the next episode. ()

Invasión británica (2007) (S02E12)

inglés The last episode might not have been as strong as the one before it, but I still think it deserves a full five stars. The creators tied up the fates of two characters who really drove the second season, and they did it without rushing or cutting corners. All in all, I was satisfied. ()

Season 3 (2008) (S03)

inglés The third season seemed the weakest one so far, mainly because the writers sidelined the serial killer in favor of Miguel Prada and failed to replace James Doakes. From my point of view, the annoying Rita character didn’t do the series any favors either, only managed to ruin my mood several times. But despite all my quibbles, it wasn’t a total disaster. ()

Nuestro padre (2008) (S03E01)

inglés The opening episode didn't really grab me with its plot, action, or suspense. The episode introduced several storylines, but with limited time, none of them got the attention they deserved. Overall, I've definitely seen better ones. ()

Encontrando a Freebo (2008) (S03E02)

inglés I didn't quite get the spectacle I was hoping for. It seems like the creators set the bar pretty high in previous seasons, and now my expectations are through the roof. Don't get me wrong, the ending was solid, but Dexter's new life situation just doesn't excite me as much as I hoped. ()

El león duerme esta noche (2008) (S03E03)

inglés Maybe it's just me, but this feels like the weakest start of the series so far. It's not like the story's been terrible, I just can't shake the feeling that the previous seasons had much more energy and really sucked me into the plot. ()

Todo queda en casa (2008) (S03E04)

inglés Just another run-of-the-mill episode from the third season, which I'd probably give four stars under different circumstances — I mean, Dexter's purely pragmatic reasons for considering a wedding were pretty entertaining. But then Rita had to come along and ruin it all for me. I just can't stand her perpetual state of offense and constant suffering. ()

Volverse Biminés (2008) (S03E05)

inglés Finally, a meatier episode! Dexter's family drama took a backseat, giving us more time to dive into the important stuff, and I ended up really enjoying it. The dynamic between Dexter and Miguel got really intriguing, and even the main case at the precinct picked up in a way that was worth watching. ()

Sí, se puede (2008) (S03E06)

inglés The sixth episode was pretty solid, but it needed a bit more of that cynical humor to really seal the deal for me. Still, I was pretty happy with how the investigation unfolded and the dynamic between our friendly duo. It's just that I can't shake the feeling that the previous two seasons were a notch above this one. ()

Pan comido (2008) (S03E07)

inglés I couldn't help but add a star for Camilla. Sure, cancer looming over everything gets old fast, but having a friend like Dexter might just come in handy. You never know when a little kindness like that might come in handy. ()

El daño que un hombre puede hacer (2008) (S03E08)

inglés The episode absolutely earns its five stars, and not even Rita could sway my opinion, though she did manage to annoy me more than I thought possible. If Dexter had any feelings and didn't abide by his code, Rita would probably find herself on his table already. ()

Sobre lo que pasó anoche (2008) (S03E09)

inglés The first half of the season didn't quite hit the mark for me, but boy, did the second half deliver the goods. Things kicked into high gear with an intensified storyline on all fronts. The pace picked up, and I found myself immersed in a fantastic atmosphere and tension. It's like the series found its groove, and I'm loving every minute of it. ()

Sigue tu camino (2008) (S03E10)

inglés The psychological showdown between Dexter and Miguel kept the tension at an all-time high throughout the episode. While there wasn't any major action, the storyline was captivating enough to keep me thoroughly entertained. ()

Tuve un sueño (2008) (S03E11)

inglés I really enjoyed Dexter putting on his party face. The tension was palpable, the atmosphere top-notch, and there were even some thrilling action sequences thrown in. All in all, I had a blast. ()

¿Aceptas a Dexter Morgan? (2008) (S03E12)

inglés This episode felt a tad weaker. Despite the focus on catching a serial killer, the storyline oddly felt slower-paced. In the finale, the heavy reliance on Dexter and Miguel's relationship became glaring, revealing several weak spots along the way. ()
