Stěkljannaja garmonika

A melancholic dreamy film about a land bound by tyranny, where people have chosen consumption over the refinement of the spirit and the prosperity of the community. A somewhat more poetic and symbolic counterpart to Bárta's The Pied Piper. Just like that film, The Glass Harmonica manages without words. The exceptional nature of the film lies in the atmosphere, where the superbly detailed visual aspects work perfectly with the musical accompaniment. Overall impression: 90%. (26.02.2013)
