Sinopsis(1)

The sit-com Just an Ordinary Family was originally made in 1968 as a one-off show. Due to its popularity with TV audiences, Fan Vavřincová wrote seven more episodes, giving rise to one of the most popular Czech TV series of all time. The feature film of the same name, whose screenplay was written by Patrik Hartl and based on Fan Vavřincová’s book, transposes the well-known stories and characters into the present time. The movie draws on the best of the television adaptations and at the same time embellishes the plot with new situations and twists, retelling the story in a creative and modern way. Just an Ordinary Family wants to follow up on the appeal and popularity of traditional Czech sit-coms. It is a story about laughable human foibles and comical and absurd situations that several coexisting generations must face, but most of all about the fellowship, tolerance, and love that hold the family together even when the going gets rough. inglés Taková normální rodinka (Just an Ordinary Family) has one hitch. And that’s the name, which logically makes the viewer expect a comedy. Which is perhaps the only genre that you can’t find anywhere in this family drama. From all points of view it is clean, uninteresting in any way, but for me personally surprisingly not futile and not embarrassing movie that looks like the cheapest ever TV movie. But I can’t say that I didn’t enjoy it. I did, but not in a comedy way. ()

inglés In the context of this sort of film, certain other ordinary Czech comedies become more serious. This is neither a fish nor a crab. I almost want to give a better review to the one-year-older project The Wedding on Battle Field. At least it had some ideas. ()

inglés Such a typical Czech comedy that definitely does not follow the tradition of the series, but at least tries not to offend with fairly normal humor. In the end, it's nothing special, but it's quite nice to watch with family. Well, and that's all. ()
