Después de meterse con éxito con la película más aterradora de Hollywood (dos de los guionistas de "Scary Movie"), con la comedia romántica ("Date Movie"), y con los éxitos de taquilla de Hollywood ("Epic Movie"), ahora los escritores y directores Jason Friedberg y Aaron Seltzer ponen su punto de mira en "300", así como en otras películas que se han convertido en parte característica de nuestra cultura popular. El heroico Leonidas, sin más armas que la ropa interior de cuero y una capa, lidera un grupo de gentuza de 13 (¡cuéntelo bien 13!) espartanos en defensa de su patria contra los invasores persas (cuyas filas incluyen a Ghost Rider, Rocky Balboa, los Transformers y a una jorobada Paris Hilton... nadie está a salvo cuando los espartanos se meten con los iconos de la cultura popular). Disgusting as any such comedy, the gunk splatters, the grossness runs down your face, but since I watched it with friends, it was pretty funny, too – laughter is contagious :-) A typical parody, if I had to compare it to Scary Movie 3, this is worse, but if I had to compare it to Scary Movie, this is an order of magnitude better. 2+

I wanted to give at least one honorary star for the closing credits, which start running after (not until?) an hour into the film, but then Kevin Sorbo started singing, and even shouting "Boo!" is not quite good enough. P.S.: And I hope part two is about Slavia. Why should only Sparta be portrayed in such a laughable way (even if using the word “laughable" with regard to this "movie" is really pushing it)?

A painful rape of a classic parody, from which the viewer takes the worst of the blows in terms of good taste. To build humor on dysfunctional pop culture references and mutual slapping seems to me like a waste of the audience’s money and time. I’m tempted to give Carmen Electra's sexy curves one full star, but in the end, even Kevin "Hercules" Sorbo's funny self-parody doesn't help because the result really is that tragic and inexcusable.

Another entry in a series of modern, wannabe funny parodies whose stupid humour often surpasses even the worst and craziest expectations. I didn't like Snyder's 300 at all, This is Sparta! at least has a sexy Carmen Electra, a few more or less funny references and a truly evil Xerxes. Otherwise, horror, misery and stupidity in every way...
