South Jutland, the early 1970s. Life isn't easy for 11-year-old Allan. His father often threatens to kill himself and lives only for the times he gets to recite his famously eloquent eulogies. Allan's mother has given up and his older brother has moved out. When Allan realises that he can't talk his older sister into spending the night on the couch with the suicidal father anymore, it's up to Allan to find new ways to keep his family together.
