Es otoño en Estonia, donde viven seis personas, seis soledades, todo uno con la monótona arquitectura de los edificios de cemento de la era soviética. ¿Como acercarse a los otros seres humanos? ¿Es posible vivir sin amor? Preguntas dolorosamente evidentes, lo son un poso menos las respuestas. Pero siempre existe la posibilidad de un rayo de luz, un poco de calor, incluso en lo absurdo de ciertas existencias. (Filmin)

I had a feeling that I had already encountered the work of Veiko Õunpuu at some point. This mosaic of desperate human destinies unfolding in a bleak panel housing estate has stuck in my memory so much that even after years, I can easily recall the stories of each character. The most powerful scene was probably the beating of the romantic comedy director by a frustrated porter. Written like this, it may seem like it was all a lot of laughing, but watching the movie was actually a thoroughly depressing experience. However, there were a few moments of black humor in there.
