Sinopsis(1)

Ajay is on a cruise with his friends and is having a whale of a time, when he finds Pia, a crew member, and time stands still. It is love at first sight for him, but Pia is not too impressed with his very obvious ways of trying to woo her. However, Ajay doesn’t give up and Pia has no choice but to finally give in. The two soon get married. Their marriage flourishes until one day their world comes crashing down when Pia is diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease. Ajay’s senior psychiatrist friend convinces him to admit her to his care centre as there is no point of return for her. Unwilling at first, Ajay relents, although half-heartedly, and puts his wife in the facility despite her pleas to take her back home. (iTunes)

inglés U Me Aur Hum is a distinctive retelling of the Hollywood film that was dominated by Ryan Gosling and Rachel McAdams in the American version, this time starring the beautiful and very talented Kajol and Ajay Devgan, a real-life married couple. The Bollywood version, of course, is full of revelry and gives out a plethora of emotions and dancing in spades (I consider "Jee Le" to be the best song, while "Saiyaan" and "Phatte" were also nice). Yet it is in an artful symbiosis with excellent drama and a very strong main plot. I've only had this type of a perfect point experience in the past thanks to Baron Münchhausen. That's why I forgive the work of the cinematographer, who could have given in to the vertigo-inducing style. In addition, the luxury cruise ship setting is visually inspiring enough on its own. And, of course, the dual time plane of 25 years was not handled appropriately (the costumes and sets were not differentiated even a little), but this turned out to be surprisingly positive in the end, and I was thus able to absolutely experience the fairy tale of the repeated newfound love for a single woman.
