Es una calurosa tarde de mediados de verano y el anciano conde abandona su mansión dejando sola a su hija Julie, la última en la larga línea de su noble familia, quien se encuentra deprimida tras la ruptura de su compromiso matrimonial. I don't remember the last time I saw a film that rustled paper like that. The concept is interesting, but the screenplay is not. What good are the performances of the actors when their characters only alternate heartfelt confessions with vulgar attempts to humiliate each other? And I won't forgive Figgis for ruining the strongest scene of the film with a split image. Negatively inventive theater adaptation.
