Juliette Hardy fue adoptada por un anciano matrimonio de Saint Tropez. Al alcanzar la edad de dieciocho años su mayor placer es disfrutar de la juventud, acudir al salón de baile y lucir su magnética belleza por toda la localidad, lo que provoca que el acaudalado armador Eric Carradine (Curd Jurgens) se encapriche de ella. Pero Juliette está enamorada de Antoine Tardieu (Christian Marquand), hijo mayor de una familia que posee un humilde astillero. Roger Vadim wrote a script on the body, and I mean literally. The final scene, where BB dances, is something that leaves no man indifferent. It is sensual, it is beautiful, it has wildness in it. With this film, Roger Vadim created Brigitte in a way that most people later knew and admired her. It almost suggests a paraphrase of the title to "Et Vadim... created Brigitte". But it's about creating a woman, a woman who can bring deep emotions to men's hearts, both love and hatred, because such a beautiful woman also carries risks. The risk of being loved by everyone and not being properly able to love anyone.
