When she was 14, Fukatsu Ryo stabbed her teacher to death when he accused her of being an arsonist. Twelve years later, Fukatsu is a high school teacher, still traumatised by the incident. One day Fukatsu is reunited with Sugino, her classmate. Sugino teaches piano to one of Fukatsu's pupils and also carries a psychological scar, an injury verbally inflicted upon him at the age of 14 and which prompted him to stop playing his favorite instrument.
