This is a story about a gang of crooks and booze smugglers and their girl friends in the Old City of Stockholm. It is a thriller of sorts. Ingrid Bergman plays the daughter of a woman who owns a small bachelor hotel where the crooks hide out. A lot of money changes hands and is hidden in such unlikely places as under herring in the local fish market. One of the crooks is a gigolo who manages to trick a local lady out of 28,000 kronor. In the end, however, the crooks are made honest by a fortuitous win on the football pool, and are able to return all the stolen money to its rightful owners. (texto oficial de la distribuidora)
