The classic first adaptation of Passion is one of those great silent films that was a success at the time of its creation and has remained popular forever. The gentle Lya De Putti was internationally popular at this time, filming with D. W. Griffith, E. A. Dupont, F. W. Murnau, and she started with J. May. There are also other great names to be found: Sig Arno, Marlene Dietrich, Hans Junkermann - they all aimed high back then.
