A drama of a young Slovak army officer. In the course of fights in the Ukraine he gradually realizes the horrors of fascism. On his return to Slovakia he takes part in the Slovak National Uprising. Slovak attempt to come to terms with the dark legacy of the Second World War and Slovakia's sympathy for the Nazis after 14 years. The Slovak National Uprising is portrayed here with the strength it had on people, presented as the effort of individuals who realized that Nazism is wrong. Patriotic and actually good.
