Kate y Martin forman una pareja que intenta reconstruir su debilitada relación tomándose un descanso en una isla remota. Todo va bien hasta que aparece un joven militar llamado Jack y les cuenta que un virus mortal está matando a millones de personas en el mundo exterior.
