Once there, Emily is plagued by horrifying visions and haunted by the ghosts inhabiting their isolated new home. I’m pretty tired of these unambitious genre movies. This is nothing but mass production: the same shape, the same dough, add a sterile ghost story, make a couple of bucks, rinse and repeat. No creative process, no originality, no pleasure.

Although some describe the American production Fertile Ground as a first-rate horror movie made differently and interestingly, it does not bring anything new to the table and sits alongside classic horror. The movie’s makers appear to have simply used what was at hand, albeit not in a great way. It is, unfortunately, a pretty weak movie.
