Sinopsis(1)

Handsome David Page is loved by two very different women: Molly, an overpainted and undereducated floozy. And Florence, a refined graduate of a finishing school. Since both lovelorn ladies are played by Norma Shearer, melodrama fans know they're in for double the romantic heartache. Shearer was on the cusp of stardom when she took these showy dual roles. She makes both women strong characters, but it's her Molly who stands out: blowzy, crude, aching with love and longing for class. And if Shearer seems to have developed a formidable set of shoulders in some scenes where she interacts with herself, there's a reason. Her over-the-shoulder double was played by a young - and unknown - Joan Crawford. (texto oficial de la distribuidora)

It is about a romance of two different girls, where it is only natural that the one from the half-world finds hope for a better tomorrow and the naive one grows up faster into a woman thanks to her encounter with her mirror. Despite the strong female subject matter, it’s not naive and is instead a very attractive melodrama with a unique mid-1920s feel. I'm already looking forward to getting to the tumultuous season in which it was Norma and Greta Garbo who vied with each other for the position of MGM Queen (even though the Queen was actually Marion Davies). The Academy Awards were never this exciting... ()
