Katarina is 20 years old. With a troubled past in a dreary suburb, her life seems to be already set in stone - until she discovers music. Everything changes when she hears a performance of Mozart's Requiem at the Gothenburg Concert Hall that sends her reeling and opens up a beautiful new world. She feels that she has to change her life and get as far away from her ugly reality as possible. But the path she has to follow proves a treacherous one, filled with lies, betrayal and a dangerous liaison with the married conductor Adam. SPOILER. La delicada y hermosa cara de Alice Vikander está en completo contraste con el personaje de Katarina que interpretó. Pero lo hizo malditamente bien. No me sorprende que Hollywood la haya notado. La película me deleitó especialmente con su componente musical. No sé por qué, pero inconscientemente elijo películas en las que el papel principal lo desempeña la 7ª sinfonía de Beethoven, ya no puede ser una coincidencia que esta sea la tercera película en el último mes de la que emanaba esa melodía aparentemente discreta pero bastante dramática y estimulante. Y casi me avergüenzo de que después de que Katarina arrojara a Adama por la ventana, haya pensado: "¡Te lo mereces, maldito arrogante!"

So this is Alicie Vikander’s debut? Not bad; unlike contemporary films, it really does look like it takes place in Scandinavia. I just wonder why it’s the film world so hard on actresses, making them prove their potential through erotic scenes. Or am I mistaken and this film is actually about something else completely? Anyhow, it’s a typical gloomy Scandinavian affair with a female psycho as the leading character. It’s fascinating how much acting self-assuredness Alicia has gained since this role.
