A group of university students in the New Mexico desert unearth an ancient mummy, on which one of the students performs a secret blood ritual, awaking the death-hungry spirit of an Aztec king. For me, the movie American Mummy is a big waste of time and it doesn't make sense to watch the whole thing; maybe just watch a few final scenes and how the gore is executed, because it's not half-bad at all. But as a narrative, as an attempt to tell a story, it's just horrible and it doesn't give the viewer anything. The mummy in the title is only there because there has been more talk about mummies in recent years.
