Lukas es un veinteañero transgénero. Entusiasta con la vida que le aguarda en la gran ciudad, se encuentra con un problema: es seleccionado para un servicio comunitario y será el único hombre de una residencia de mujeres. Lo que sería un sueño para cualquier chico es un problema que le provoca mucha ansiedad. Afortunadamente, su mejor amiga Ine le ayuda introduciéndole en la escena homosexual de Colonia. Lukas vive su primer ligue con el atrevido y atractivo Fabio, que representa todo lo que él anhela: confianza en uno mismo y masculinidad. Lukas, cuyos atributos de mujer siguen sin haber sido alterados, se verá ante el dilema de compartir sus deseos con Fabio. (Sherlock Films)

I haven't seen many films with transsexual themes, but I have always been very interested in them – e.g. Transamerica or Soldier's Girl. Romeos looks promising at first glance, as it deals with transsexual transition in a recent adult and all that goes with it. Personally, I had a lot of trouble sympathizing with any of the characters, because it felt like they were all over-the-top, in fact, they all acted irrational to the point of being annoying. The short videos of Lukas commenting on his transformation were interesting, but after watching the film, I found myself kind of deprived of any deeper and stronger story.
