I like that Emma Thompson is trying her hand at screenwriting, and she's quite successful with it. She has now returned to her favorite British authors and has directed a historical costume romantic drama, which, however, completely bored me after half an hour. Well, maybe it has happened before. It's as if the film lacks real power, despite having such interesting actors and acting legends.
