Kate y Richard llevan varios años divorciados. La amante de Richard acaba de abandonarlo, y un tiburón de las finanzas lo ha dejado en la ruina, junto al resto de sus compañeros de trabajo. Desolado, Richard decide dar un vuelco a su vida y le propone a Kate robar al empresario que le ha quitado todo. A pesar de la mala relación que mantienen, Kate acepta esta extraña proposición, movida por el futuro económico de sus hijos. Sus vecinos y amigos deciden ayudarles a efectuar este singular robo, en el que intentarán sustraer el valiosísimo collar que el empresario le ha regalado a su prometida. (Movistar+)

Emma Thompson and Pierce Brosnan meet in a wacky French movie. One would almost think that they were British secret service moles, tasked with deliberately making troubles in France and starting another Hundred Years’ War. But, and I was quite surprised, this comedy does not contain many jokes that would make fun of the English and the French, so there is nothing left but to stick to the classic charm of both lead actors. This charm fortunately salvages the film, even though the French sometimes put them into such wild scenes that it seems really strange to see those conservative English actors there, or almost embarrassing. There are, however, also some good moments and the whole film is relaxing to watch, so I’m giving it the average rating.

Thanks to the lively music, the plot can sail along quite smoothly, but the fun somewhat falters due to the abundance of rather stale jokes. However, Emma Thompson and Pierce Brosnan eventually convinced me not to completely dismiss this pseudo-comedy. (50%)
