Vincent descubrió que su mujer, Hélène, le era infiel y la mató. El protagonista del crimen fue juzgado pero resultó finalmente absuelto; su caso se cerró, aunque su historia continúa en el recuerdo. Seis años después Paul quiere deshacerse también de su mujer, aunque por motivos distintos. Este es un mujeriego empedernido y está harto de dar explicaciones así que, siguiendo el consejo de un tío suyo misógino, decide matarla. Su tío formó parte del jurado popular de Vincent y fue uno de los que le declaró inocente; ahora, años después, amenaza al absuelto con reabrir el caso si no acaba con la mujer de su sobrino. "We don't want to kill all the women in the world. Only the ones who piss us off..." A great film, and I don't think it's strongly anti-woman, not at all. In my opinion, everyone, man or woman, can get "their own thing" out of it. The brilliantly played central Noiret-Bohringer-Lhermitte trio simply takes you on an hour and a half long trip, full of humor and incredible jokes, but also manages to be serious (the part with Jean Rochefort's character is absolutely amazing) without being moralistic or unnecessarily sentimental. Once again five pure stars. Nothing to be concerned with here.
