Reseña del usuario Necrotongue de esta serie (99)

We Can Be Heroes (2015) (S03E11)

inglés Joe Caputo really steals the show when it comes to humor. Whenever he's on screen, I know I'm in for a good time. The series is set in a prison, but the eleventh episode dives into labor unions — covering everything from the guards to some shady dealings with fetishists. There are plenty of laughs, but it never loses its serious edge. 3*+ ()

Don't Make Me Come Back There (2015) (S03E12)

inglés The twelfth episode didn’t bore me, but it didn’t really impress me either. The creators threw in some humor and they also tried to hit a more serious note, but they’ve definitely done it better in past seasons. The show seems to be losing tension. ()

Trust No Bitch (2015) (S03E13)

inglés Although the final episode felt a bit too long, it was one of the better episodes of this season (though that's not saying much). As usual, Joe Caputo brought the laughs, but the godfather and the guards' growing dissatisfaction were also pretty amusing. 4*- ()

Season 4 (2016) (S04)

inglés What a qualitative leap forward after the disaster that was the previous season. I consider Season 3 a kind of creative blackout. Season 4 was great fun, offered a good dose of humor, didn’t lack quality drama with elaborate atmosphere, so I didn’t have to fear boring episodes full of unnecessary filler and had a great time. ()

Work That Body for Me (2016) (S04E01)

inglés The fourth season started off way better than the last one. There was a huge improvement, and I didn’t find myself bored at all. Once I embraced the fact that the creators turned the American prison system into something totally bizarre, I had a really good time. ()

Power Suit (2016) (S04E02)

inglés The second episode felt weaker than the last one, but it still held up pretty well. I’m not a big fan of the main character, but I do get a kick out of her fake self-confidence. I laughed, which is more than I can say for the third season, and the dramatic storyline actually worked. 4*- ()

(Don't) Say Anything (2016) (S04E03)

inglés This time, the story’s pace slowed down, and it felt like a throwback to the previous season. There was a lot of talking, but it focused on small, insignificant issues. The tension and thickening plot I was hoping for just vanished, and even the humor took a hit. ()

Doctor Psycho (2016) (S04E04)

inglés Once again, the creators skillfully managed the more serious aspects of the story, but they didn't forget to include a decent amount of humor. It wasn't a five-star episode, but it entertained me and definitely deserved a four. ()

We'll Always Have Baltimore (2016) (S04E05)

inglés The fifth episode wasn't the most thrilling for me, but I had a great time with Joe Caputo at the conference. By the end, I was laughing out loud. Accidentally creating a racist group while trying to improve prison relationships? Now that's comedy gold. ()

Piece of Sh*t (2016) (S04E06)

inglés The sixth episode really stood out. I actually found myself laughing quite a bit. The creators finally nailed the dramatic plot in the fourth season, which I really missed in the third. I'm having a good time with it so far. ()

It Sounded Nicer in My Head (2016) (S04E07)

inglés After the third season, I had pretty low expectations, but wow, I did not see this storyline development coming. It’s like the writers had a massive creative breakthrough or something. The episodes in the fourth season are so much better, and I’m genuinely enjoying them. ()

Friends in Low Places (2016) (S04E08)

inglés Even though the previous episode was stronger, I’m still giving this one five stars because it kept me thoroughly satisfied. The debate about racism between Judy King and Poussey gave me a bit of a headache, but it was excellently handled on a serious note. 5*- ()

Turn Table Turn (2016) (S04E09)

inglés The ninth episode felt a bit too serious for my taste. The humor I got used to this season was pretty sparse here. The episode leaned heavily on dramatic events, but thankfully, the creators pulled it off well, so I wasn't bored. ()

Bunny, Skull, Bunny, Skull (2016) (S04E10)

inglés Even though I was happy to see my favorite character back, her drug problem is starting to get on my nerves because it's really slowing down the story. I was hoping for more humor, but overall, I was pretty satisfied with the development. Plus, the ending was hilarious. ()

People Persons (2016) (S04E11)

inglés This episode didn't rely much on humor, though the threesome with Judy King had its moments. The real highlight was the dramatic tension — the creators nailed it, and I enjoyed every bit of it. ()

The Animals (2016) (S04E12)

inglés The episode kept the momentum from the previous one, with its depressing vibe and intriguing plot developments. Sure, some parts felt a bit far-fetched, but hey, what do I know about the land of unlimited opportunity, right? ()

Toast Can't Never Be Bread (2016) (S04E13)

inglés The plot didn’t hit me as hard as the previous two episodes. I was leaning towards giving it four stars, but all the episode was about was mourning a character's death. My cynical side just couldn't buy into it. At times, it felt like it wasn’t Poussey who died in the show but Samira Wiley in real life. The creators pushed too hard on the emotional aspect, and that just didn’t work for me. ()

Season 5 (2017) (S05)

inglés I raved about the previous season, but I wasn’t very satisfied this time in spite of my relatively high rating. Some episodes weren't bad at all, some were even great. Despite being somehow benevolent regarding this series, I was annoyed by some weird logic goofs. There were so many of them in the last three episodes that I’m starting to think that the writers were using unconventional food supplements during the writing process. 4*- ()

Riot FOMO (2017) (S05E01)

inglés This series doesn't exactly play by the rules of reality, and you know what? Coming to terms with that has made the whole experience a lot more enjoyable for me. ()

F*ck, Marry, Frieda (2017) (S05E02)

inglés The awesome vibe from the last episode seemed to dim a bit, almost like the creators hit a snag in the storyline. But hey, Frieda's life flashbacks swooped in to save the day, and I was totally into those. Plus, that MacGyver-style moment was hilarious! ()
