Un cineasta alemán pide a un amigo, técnico de sonido, que se reúna con él en Lisboa. Cuando éste llega, el director ha desaparecido, dejando unas cintas con imágenes pero sin sonido. El técnico recorre incansablemente las calles de Lisboa, grabando los sonidos del casco viejo de la ciudad para completar las imágenes grabadas por su amigo. (Cine Company S.A.)

While waiting for Antonioni (they were supposed to make Beyond the Clouds together), Wenders went to Lisbon to shoot one of the many symphonies of cities. It's a theme that we find in the 1920s in the USSR, Germany, and the Czech Republic, but I really don't feel that it suits the 1990s any better.
