Field of Amapolas

Emilio is a farmer who was accused of collaborating with the enemy in a guerrilla war, and loses his wife to an unfortunate accident during the conflict. He and his son become refugees and find a shelter at the home of a relative. This complicated situation compels the duo to accept a dangerous work for a local drug boss at the poppy fields. The Colombian director's debut focuses on the innocent people who suffer in the war between the guerillas and militia, and who are consequently forced to participate in illegal activities. The audience may appreciate not only the mesmerizing beauty of the Colombian landscape, but also the sensitive way of conveying the story. (Febiofest)
