The most authentic of authentic documentaries about how real music is made. One-time drummer for Nirvana and frontman for the Foo Fighters, Dave Grohl, catches the beginnings, the golden age and fall of the famous California studio Sound City, which was killed by the coming of the digital age. After the complex closed down, he bought the Neve recording console and, with other musical legends, recorded the special album Real To Reel, emphasising the human element in musical creativity. This musical whirlwind is interspersed with inspiring interviews with major musical figures. You can be sure that here, in Sound City, at least one of your favourite rock albums was made.
