But what's absolutely worst - it's really escalating - are the tricks. Lizzie Borden is swinging the axe quite a lot here. It's nice that the camera wanted to show us how the axe is being embedded, but it's painfully obvious how fake and how digital the splattering blood is. In this regard, it's a complete downfall, because if even enthusiasts find it easier to insert digital tricks into a movie, then horror is truly dying on all fronts.
