The Lost Signal of Democracy

  • Grecia Το χαμένο σήμα της δημοκρατίας

Sinopsis(1)

The functioning of public media reflects not only the state of society, but the political situation in the country. The clearest example was the sudden silence of the Greek public broadcaster ERT in June 2013. After 75 years, the government needed only one night to turn the news broadcast into snow and static. Nothing like this had ever happened in any other democratic country. The silencing of public television resulted in a political conflict and provoked protests in a country already torn apart by economic crisis. Will the signal of democracy also be lost in other countries? (One World)
