Night on the streets of Chicago. Brenda stops her car next to a woman standing in the road. They start talking and it doesn't take long for Brenda to empathise with what the woman is going through. As a former prostitute, she knows very well the tricks and threats used by johns and pimps. Now she has decided to help those women and girls who out of sheer desperation find themselves on the street or become victims of sexual violence. Each woman's story is unique and together they form a picture of the spiral of sexual abuse. British filmmaker Kim Longinotto often makes movies focused on strong and brave women. (One World)
