Scream Queens (2015)

inglés The series is undemanding and simple - a relaxing watch, which lets you just switch off and chuckle at the witty criticism of contemporary society. I quite enjoyed this series and had a lot of good laughs. Unfortunately, this only applies to the first season. The second season wasn’t that amusing, I was rather disappointed. ()

Season 1 (2015) (S01)

inglés I never thought I would say this, but the first season was a real surprise. The series is so unbelievably silly that it’s amazing what perfect satire and critique of contemporary society is hidden inside. No, seriously, I wasn’t expecting to give more than two stars, but I guess you can’t judge it by a few trailers and other people’s reviews. It’s true that there were quite a few logic holes, but who really cares about logic in this case. The search for the killer worked surprisingly well, I quite liked the humor, the frequent film references were a nice touch and the acting performances were surprisingly good. I also appreciated the funny tribute to Carrie Fisher. ()

Pilot (2015) (S01E01)

inglés Walking into this series, I had zero expectations, but boy, was I in for a surprise! The level of absurdity and humor caught me off guard — in the best way possible. If I were one of those viewers who expect every show to be a profound work of art, I probably would've hit the exit button by now. But hey, I'm just a casual monster looking for a good time, and the pilot episode delivered exactly that! ()

Hell Week (2015) (S01E02)

inglés After catching the second episode, it's crystal clear why they named this series Scream Queens — no doubt about it! I'm also relieved that I no longer have to ponder which Chanel is the dumbest; Chad Radwell effortlessly outshines them all in this department. What's impressive is how the show doesn't demand a lot of brainpower, yet I'm finding myself thoroughly entertained. ()

Chainsaw (2015) (S01E03)

inglés I'm at a crossroads where I could justify giving this episode anywhere from one to four stars. The plot veered into some incredibly silly territory at times, yet oddly enough, I still found myself enjoying it in a twisted sort of way. Clauffield's showdown with the Red Devil deserves a special mention though. It's almost like the creators took a cue from Monty Python and the Holy Grail, particularly the scene with the Black Knight. ()

Haunted House (2015) (S01E04)

inglés The story rolls on, not without its bumps and creaks, but there is always something that kept me firmly strapped in. What really caught my attention was the subtle critique of some of our more peculiar and silly human behaviors. It's unexpected in what might seem like an undemanding story, but it adds a layer of depth that I found quite engaging. ()

Pumpkin Patch (2015) (S01E05)

inglés Despite the nod to The Silence of the Lambs, I had to dock a few points this time around. The fifth episode just didn't quite hit the mark for me. Oddly enough, even though a lot went down, it didn't have the same spark as earlier episodes. ()

Seven Minutes in Hell (2015) (S01E06)

inglés The last episode felt a bit lackluster, but this one picked up the pace nicely. Chanel 3 really stole the show this time around — I found myself hanging on to every word she said. Still, Caulfield's departure was a bummer. His distinctive style, with no fingerprints left behind, will definitely be missed by me. ()

Beware of Young Girls (2015) (S01E07)

inglés Once again, I found myself laughing joyfully at the summoning of the dead. What should I say? Chad just isn't the sharpest pencil in the box. Feather McCarthy's story added an extra layer of enjoyment, and the rebellion in Chanelland was a welcome twist. Looks like this time, I don't have to worry about being labeled a harsh critic. ()

Mommie Dearest (2015) (S01E08)

inglés Jamie Lee Curtis's portrayal of the bloody sport was undeniably entertaining, but the rest of the plot left me less enthralled. Maybe it's just me, but the ongoing investigation felt a bit lackluster. Aside from the mentioned fight scene, the story only perked up with the online death, and even that fell short for me. Plus, Denise Hemphill's character is starting to grate on me. While she's meant to be funny, her stereotypical antics are beginning to wear thin. ()

Ghost Stories (2015) (S01E09)

inglés In the ninth episode, the body count rose once more, but beyond that, nothing really grabbed my attention. It felt like a continuation of the previous episode, which left me wanting more. The second half of the season is losing momentum. Maybe a dose of humor could inject some life back into it. ()

Thanksgiving (2015) (S01E10)

inglés I was pleasantly surprised when Thanksgiving at the Radwells' rolled around. From the Radwells to the KKT house, there was no shortage of amusement to be found. ()

Black Friday (2015) (S01E11)

inglés The eleventh episode left me feeling a bit underwhelmed after the excitement of Thanksgiving. While there were a few highlights scattered throughout, the overall plot didn't quite hit the mark for me. And to top it off, Denise Hamphil's return felt like a step backward in the story. ()

Dorkus (2015) (S01E12)

inglés The episode was packed with action, laughs, and a faster-paced storyline, signaling the season's climax. I particularly got a kick out of the Chanels' visit to Melanie and Wes's selfless sacrifice for the team. ()

The Final Girl(s) (2015) (S01E13)

inglés Even in its final episode, the series maintains its simple vibe. You wouldn't necessarily expect profound thoughts from it, and yet the creators managed to slip them in here and there. This time around, it was particularly noticeable ()

Season 2 (2016) (S02)

inglés I raved about the first season, so the second one was all the more disappointing. The hospital environment didn’t work as well for me as the high school setting. The creators did not even come up with anything new, the season only recycled the previously used strategies, trying to use the same funny plots as before, which didn’t really do it for me and bored me instead. 3*- ()

Scream Again (2016) (S02E01)

inglés The kick-off to the second season didn't quite hit the spot like the previous one. I found the shift from high school to hospital setting a tad underwhelming. Plus, the new killer's costume color is hardly the groundbreaking change I was hoping for. But hey, at least Billie Lourd as Chanel #3 is still in the mix, and that's a saving grace in my book. ()

Warts and All (2016) (S02E02)

inglés Well, after giving the second episode a go, I've got to say, my heart still belongs to the first season. Something about Chad Radwell's return just didn't tickle my funny bone like it did before. Sure, the Chanel-Dr. Holt date was decent enough, but the moment Denise Hemphill chimed in with her distinctive voice, my enthusiasm took a nosedive. ()

Handidates (2016) (S02E03)

inglés What started as an enjoyable series is now feeling rather uninteresting and dull. The humor that made the first season so great seems to have gone missing, and I can't help but wonder if the change in setting has something to do with it. Even silence of the lambs couldn't quite salvage the situation. ()

Halloween Blues (2016) (S02E04)

inglés Well, talk about a nosedive in quality. The second Chaneloween felt like a lackluster imitation of the original concept from the first season. And don't even get me started on Niecy Nash's voice. It's seriously grating on me. Anyway, it's like the creators have thrown in the towel on delivering genuinely funny moments. ()
