Mathieu, de 25 años, siempre ha aspirado a convertirse en un autor reconocido. Un sueño que parece inalcanzable para él, porque a pesar de todos sus esfuerzos, sus obras nunca han sido editadas. Mientras tanto, se gana la vida trabajando en una empresa de mudanzas que dirige su tío. Su suerte cambia cuando se topa con el manuscrito de un viejo solitario que acaba de morir. A Perfect Man or an almost flawless movie? I’m thrilled by the sophisticated and surprising plot which sucks you in immediately. It must be said that there are also some funny scenes alongside the thriller, but there’s nothing wrong with that in my mind. French movies are still well worth it. I’m happy to have had the chance to watch this spicy excursion into the mind of a writer at the French Film Festival, which created the proper atmosphere for a French evening with beautiful French language coming not only from the screen but also from the audience. Satisfaction all around.

Several films have already been made about a struggling writer who, due to a chance opportunity, appropriates someone else's manuscript and passes it off as their own. The filmmakers did a commendable job in this thriller, effectively sustaining suspense until the rather unexpected conclusion. Pierre Niney, who played the ambitious young man more than convincingly, is certainly worth mentioning.

A good thriller that resonates with me because of the writer in the main role. What is such a writer willing to do to become successful? And how does he act when confronted with the fact that he cheated? A Perfect Man is a good, suspenseful, albeit somewhat alibi-driven and predictable alternative.
