Es la mañana del día de Nochebuena y ninguno de los Cooper está teniendo un buen día. Sam y Charlotte Cooper quieren pasar felices y en familia una última Navidad, antes de comunicar que se van a divorciar. El solitario padre de Charlotte, Bucky conoce a una camarera (Amanda Seyfried) que está a punto de irse de la ciudad. Hank, acaba de divorciarse y busca desesperadamente un trabajo, mientras cuida como puede a sus tres hijos. A Emma, la solterona del clan, la han arrestado por robar en una tienda. Además, Eleanor, la hija menor, ha decidido llevar a un soldado a la cena de navidad y fingir que es su novio para no decepcionar a sus padres. Así están las cosas cuando las cuatro generaciones de la familia Cooper se juntan en Nochebuena. ¿Podrá la magia de la Navidad resolver todas estas complicaciones? (Tripictures)

I really liked the romantic storyline between Olivia Wilde and Jake Lacy, which was very well crafted and even better acted. The other stories annoyed me a bit at times, but I was pleased with the positive vibe of the whole film, which I can't imagine Christmas time without. (65%)

Considered how many A movie actors they managed to put into this film, this Christmas dramedy is quite bad. It’s just a story about one dysfunctional family, where several storylines are brought together at the Christmas table. The problem is that all those characters’ problems are just boring. Everything is supposed to be mitigated by the Christmas atmosphere, but in a movie like this it won’t get you over the moon. No matter how many candles do you light in an attempt to bring in some Christmas cheer, the characters won’t become less annoying.
