Sinopsis(1)

Fårö Document is Ingmar Bergman's first documentary. Having recently built a house on the island in the Baltic he was taken by the people who lived there and felt the need to document their everyday lives. The film was shown on Swedish television to great acclaim. (Ten years later Bergman would make a follow-up: Fårö Document 1979 (1979). (texto oficial de la distribuidora)

inglés An isolated Swedish island with regular traditional life rhythms. Bergman evokes a kind of old-world idyll not only through relaxed and funny conversations with local eccentric people, but also through distinctly visually stylized (often colorful) moments from the life of the island. A rough landscape, sheep are born, sheep are slaughtered... It is apparent how fascinated the Swedish solitaire was by the pagan rhythm of existence. His protest against capitalism is somewhat docile and naive, but at its core extremely sincere and very understandable to our fellow citizens. To a certain extent, Bergman managed to generalize the arrival of market capitalism into the lives of ordinary people in the image of a small island. The director's conclusions may be amusing, but I really liked his first documentary about Fårö, both technically and in terms of content. ()
