What Ang Lee excelled at with the film "Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon" was not something completely new, but rather a rediscovery and perfection of what King Hu had already brought in the 60s. An excellent action spectacle with surprisingly great moments and fights that were very good even for their time. A beautiful showcase for lovers of action movies, proving that it was possible even 50 years ago.
